My unholy trinity of Fear, Shame, and Guilt

A shrine to self-doubt on the foundation they've built

All three are pervasive in differing ways

Fear grabs hold tight and whispers in your ear telling you everything you're not and everything you're not is the reason why you'll fail. That quiet whisper echoes in your ears, drowning everything out until it's the only thing you hear. You second guess every thought and turn to inaction because it feels safer than the fall, but inaction is stagnation and stagnation is death, the vise grip of fear squeezes tight around your neck

Shame chatters in the back of your head, telling you everything your are is no good. Sowing seeds of self doubt deep into your consciousness. This creates a whole new set of problems. A spiral of second guessing, constant questioning. A wrestling match with one arm tied behind your back, broken, battered, under constant attack

And guilt, well guilt amplifies it all. If you break free of shame and get unshackled from fear, guilt is still there with a menacing sneer. The last line of defense to pull you back in. Every action a mistake, you should have listened to fear and he's surprised you would try, you're not good enough, didn't shame make that clear? See guilts there to remind you that you can never be free, there's always someone watching and judging, even if that person is me.
